Peppermint Tart

Hello!

I handed in my first "take-home" exam for my Honours degree today, oh the relief ! So I thought I'd reward myself with some home-made peppermint tart for all my hard work, ha ! This is the first time I made peppermint tart so I was quite worried that it would be a flop, nevertheless it was quite a success, whoo. I'm not much of a baker, but i had tons of fun last night, I managed to get tart everywhere, on my boyfriend's fridge, laptop, on me and a friend of ours haha!
I decided on this tart because its really quick and easy to make and its by far my favourite tart !! (and I needed to get back to my exam, ha!)

Right, so this is what you'll need to get going:

2 packs of Tennis Biscuits
1 can of caramel (I use Nestle, feel free to use any other brand though)
1 slab of mint crisp chocolate
1 box of Orley Whip (there is two sachets in a box)

Pack the bottom of the Pyrex dish (or any 'fridge-able' dish) with one layer of tennis biscuits and grate the slab of chocolate into separate side plate. Empty the contents (both sachets) of Orley Whip into your mixing bowl and mix it until it begins to get stiff. Then empty your can of caramel into the Orley Whip mixture and mix it some more until that gets stiff (be careful not to make it too stiff as you may need to be able to spread it). You may of course throw some of the grated chocolate into the mixture while mixing, for that extra pepperminty taste (I did that and its great, definitely gives it that missing spark)!

Once the mixture is set to your liking, you will need to empty half of the batter into the Pyrex dish and spread it evenly across the surface. Once that's done, pack another layer of tennis biscuits and then empty the the rest of the batter over the second layer of tennis biscuits and spread evenly. Now you get to sprinkle the remaining peppermint chocolate over the surface, I am a BIG chocolate fan, so I tend to over-do the whole chocolate thing :) its good either way, ha!). Finally, you will need to cover the tart with foil/cling wrap, pop it into the fridge and let it set over night :).

I had my slice with a warm cup of coffee, cuddled under a blankie, as it is raining so hard today.

If any of you try this, please let me know how it comes out !

Birthday Bash

Hello !

Dress - YDE
Shoe - Fashion Express
Necklace - Granmamma
Watch - Dolce & Gabana (old)

I didnt take any selfies as everything was so rushed on Saturday, but I just HAD to post this outfit.
It was my friend's 21st birthday on Saturday and it was such a ball ! I honestly thought she was getting married, the way the hall looked, it was like a fairytale and she looked nothing less than gorgeous (that's her in the bottom photo). Oh! Of course, the guy in the photo's is my boyfriend, haha !
So I got this cute little number at YDE, it is a peplum, body-fitted dress, with a heart-shaped neckline. It's hard to explain the material of the dress, so the first photo is a close-up, so you can see it more clearly, its a rough/ruched kind of material but it fits like a glove. I am so happy with it !
I paired it with a strappy black and cream/caramel brown shoe, which my boyfriend bought me as a gift (browny points!) just to break the colour. As high as this heel is, its so comfortable, even after 6 hours of dancing whoo!
My necklace I got from my Granma and I love love love it, it's so vintage, which is right up my street and it totally does the job !
I got my nails done at Tiffany's Beauty Salon in Mossel Bay (my hometown). I went with pink because I thought this outfit is in need of a splash of colour, nothing to hectic, but I was more than happy with my choice :)
I'm busy with exams actually, so I'm sorry if my blogging is a bit slow !!
Have a lovely week !

Studs and Spikes

Hey guys,
I know the studded/spiked look is in right now, so I thought I'd share my views

 shortshandbag - bracelet - blouse

To be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of the studs and spikes, but I do feel that it could look real cute if its not over done.
So I picked a few pieces that really stood out to me, as they say "Less is More".

The studded shorts are perfect to wear during the day, going shopping or just out for lunch with the girls, pair it with a plain blouse, some stockings and a pair of pumps and you're ready to go (Don't forget your cardigan, winter is creeping in)!
I am in love with this handbag, a total MUST HAVE! It goes with everything and anything and you can definitely not go wrong with this item in your closet.
You can never have too many accessories and this spiked bracelet is just what you need to spice up your outfit :)
Finally, the spiked collar. I really like this, because its not too much and it cuts out the trouble of having to worry about accessories, all you have to do is throw it on with a skirt or some pants and that's that !

Hope you're having a good week and you're ready for exams!!
Study hard and look cute doing it :)

Study Break (:

Hello !
So this is my first ever blog, I'm not sure how well I'll do, but here it goes :)

Necklace - Sass Diva
Shorts - Topshop UK
Shoes - Mr. Price
Top - Inherited from my mommy, vintage :)

This is what i do during my study breaks, bad hey? haha
Seeing as winter is approaching, everyone tries to take advantage of these sunny days, as did I *blush*
So I decided to get a few snaps of my outfit before the weather decided to change hehe.
This outfit is so cute and it can be dressed up or down, depending on the occassion. I am totally loving these shorts at the moment because they can be worn during the day and at night. They are blue high waisted shorts, with a cream heart-shaped pattern and a heart-shaped button. I paired it with a maroon tank top which I really adore, as it was my moomy's. The top is a lace-type of material with a flowery pattern, so cute. The Neccklace !! Hot right?? I actually won this piece in a blog competition that I entered and I am in love with it!! ( http://loveelii.blogspot.com check it out!)
I decided to pop on my silver sandals that I wear with almost everything, just to ensure that the outfit remains casual!
