Its about time I post something new!! Sorry for the delay, I've been writing non-stop for the past two weeks and I'm finally on a break, so I thought its only right for me to post an outfit :) Don't let the sunny weather fool you, it's F R E E Z I N G in Cape Town, it hailed for 2 days straight last week!! Believe it or not, this is the same dress in both outfits, I know right? I've been looking for a long sleeve, short black dress for ages, but I just haven't found anything I like, so I stumbled across this, its longer but if you fold it in it works as a short dress too! Plus, no-one will ever know, ha ! I wanted to get it made shorter, but once I put it on I actually fell in love with the length, so I've got best of both worlds, short and long!
Back to the outfits! The dress is a thin material, so I'd definitely advise that you pop a black strappy top underneath. The short outfit, I thought this is more of a casual, day, 'let's go grab coffee' look. So I threw on my new purple stockings, a pair of short black boots (which I probably dug up in my mom's cupboard, I have no idea really, it's soo old!) and my trusty leather jacket. I really like this look because the purple stockings pop out and give the outfit a bit of colour and if you take off these booties and pair it with ones that have a heel, you'll be good for a night out !
The longer look. This is the original look of the dress, it covers your knees, but short enough not to hide your shoe. This look is a bit more formal, however you can dress it up or down to your choice. I quite like this look because if you're going somewhere, say a farewell or a family member's confirmation or even a dinner, this outfit is perfect for the occassion. Baring in mind that I'd be walking up and down I decided to throw on my new favourite boots, which are a red-ish colour and are made from suede, but boy! are they comfy. I then decided to round off the look with a cream clutch which has a bit gold detail, that my friend got me as a gift in Dubai. In both outfits I wore the necklace my Gran gave me, its a gold heart-shaped locket, because I didn't want to wear any chunky accessories so I opted for this and I'm more than happy with my choice..
This time next week I'll be in the UK visiting some family, so I'm sorry if I'm a bit quiet, but I'll try my best to post when I'm there and when I get back I'll be sure to have loads to blog !
Enjoy your week and for those of you on holiday, have a rocking vac!
